By God's grace,
St. Luke's congregation will have the privilege of
hosting its annual Concert Series for 15 seasons. Over the years,
more than 70,000 people have attended these performances by a
variety of high-quality orchestras, bands and choral groups. The 2009-20010
Season will offer nine different concerts (including a Matinee in September and
triple performances of the popular Holiday Concert), for a total of TWELVE performances.
Because of the generous support of St. Luke's members and other friends of the Series, we have
been able to offer FREE ADMISSION to the entire community since the Concert
Series was inaugurated in 1994. (See links below for how YOU can support the Series.)

Edification
Music, one of God's finest gifts, has the power to uplift our spirits and
inspire nobler instincts, as well as to entertain. The fine performances we
offer are nourishing experiences for the members of our church and
community and especially for our precious children. |

Encouragement
Our Concert series supports the music education programs of Lutheran and
public universities and colleges, as well as community-based organizations
such as the Orlando Philharmonic Orchestra, the Orlando Concert Band
and the Brass Band of Central Florida. |

Outreach
In our sanctuary, visitors are surrounded by rich symbols of our Christian
heritage as they enjoy fine musical performances. They are welcomed by our
pastors and members and invited to return and learn more about the mission
and ministries of St. Luke's Lutheran Church and School. |
Concert Series Costs
The Concert Series budget for the 2009-10 season is more than $60,000. The bulk
of this money is needed to fulfill contractual obligations or provide honoraria to the
performance groups. Other costs include hospitality for the artists, post-concert
receptions, mailings, etc.
Beyond anticipated grants from third source funds and a commitment from St. Luke's
Church, it is expected that about $50,000 must be provided through the generous gifts
of individuals in the church and larger community.
The Concert Series Corps

This invaluable team of volunteers was organized a few years ago and has served in
many ways: as Hosts and Hostesses to greet our guests, assisting with traffic
control, coordinating special receptions and hospitality for performers,
providing audio-visual services and more. We simply could not produce the
Series without the help of this dedicated team. Their reward is the fun they
have working together and YOU are invited to join the Corps, as well. (Follow
